About Get Kids Fishing
Get Kids Fishing. The name of our organization tells people what we do. We help get kids to learn about and enjoy fishing. We happily work with kids, parents, grandparents, siblings, and others in understanding the hobby of fishing, and how to get the most out of the activity.
Our organization is a grass roots effort to teach all about fishing. While our main goal is to increase appreciation and knowledge of fishing, we also encourage kids to challenge themselves. We offer regular competitions to children from 5 to 18 years of age. We run a series of fishing competitions where children qualify for the year ending Bass Trophy, where the top three in different age groups win trophies and awards. This friendly competition has been held for the last five years and has been the cap on our fishing season each year.
Who We Are
I started Get Kids Fishing over a dozen years ago with the goal of helping to foster a love and appreciation of this sport with kids. I started fishing with my Grandfather when I was around five years old and have fallen in love with it ever since. I have fished in many different locations with a variety of people. From fishing in a local pond with my grandpop to fishing in the Atlantic Ocean with my dad, I have done it all.
With help of a dedicated group of fishing enthusiasts we run Get Kids Fishing. We happily have provided written material for newspapers, magazines, and online blogs. The material we have written has been aimed at promoting fishing. We also have done presentations on fishing and fishing safety for kids and parents. Also, since often fishing is done in boats, we have offered swimming and boating safety programs. We aim to provide information so that children and parents can enjoy fishing and do it safely.
We would like to introduce you to the dedicated and knowledgeable Get Kids Fishing team. If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of them.
